Canadians in the Desert

The Good

When we arrived at the home in Mesa where the trailer was parked we exhaled a sigh of relief. The trailer was there and we hadn't been scammed! We met a lovely old lady who's son had passed away and she was responsible for liquidating his assets and selling his home. Because the home had sold, we had less than 30 days to move it from site.

The Bad

We arrived to AZ in a heat wave. Seriously. We are Canadian and anything over 30 degrees (86 F) is considered dangerous. We had 2 days to plan the "fix", organize storage and tow it safely to her temporary home. We immediately left for Home Depot where we rented a saw, and a vacuum. We purchased lumber, screws, gloves, and bolts and plywood. One way or another we were getting her off the property and into a storage facility.

The Ugly

Just a reminder that we are Canadian, it's over 110F (HELL in Celsius), we have our 3 children with us and we are attempting to repair damage so bad that even the little old lady thought we were crazy.

More details to follow on the repairs but let's sit for a moment with the fact that we completed this in 8 hours, with 3 kids under 10, no iPods to keep them occupied and nothing for them to do. Our children are incredibly patient and have made our passion possible because they like to be apart of it.
