April 2016

We embarked on a 5000 km (3100 miles) return trip

We were so lucky to have a local (AZ) hotrod guy willing to help us out and he spent so many hours prepping Maude for her journey. New tires, new rims, break work, bearings etc. There is no way that we could have accomplished the rescue mission with out him! Thank you J.O. Daddy-O ;)

Trip Down

The scenery from the Rocky Mountains of Calgary down through Montana, Utah and Arizona was breathtaking. We were dazzled by the landscape which was good because we drove those 5000kms in under 2 days. We had given ourselves only 24 hours in AZ to finish the brake work, get lights working and to have her wrapped for the journey. We worked well into the night but it was worth it in the end.

Trip Up

Knowing that heading back the same way we came would put up pulling Maude through some wicked tight canyons and ranges, we opted to detour through Nevada and arrived in Mesquite well into the night. Kathy managed a small Slot win and we covered gas for the rest of the trip home!
